So Im wondering if youve experienced any of the same hesitancy to read that relationship as romantic in the reception to the book, and whether it surprised you. It was as if the person I seemed to be wasnt real, because, well, she wasnt. Meanwhile, the Third House's heiress, Ianthe Tridentarius, deduces how Lyctors are created: a necromancer must extract and devour their cavalier's soul, allowing them to use the soul as a virtually infinite power source and gaining the cavalier's combat skills. Way back when I had just finished the book, and I had started sending it out to agents, I got a super nice agent who was really excited about it. I also want to talk a little bit, before we get into more specifics, about all of the memes in the book. I even spent a lot of time conceiving of myself as a fictional character. Ive spoken to some people who feel sort of like they get taken out of the flow of the story by them. I personally find the way Muir is analyzing the toxicity compelling, but I can see the alternate argument. I wanted to do the everyones at a ball and Harrows received a makeover. They make quick progress in the trial due to Harrow's exceptional skill in necromancy and Gideon's perceptiveness and combat skills. Harrow reveals that the atmospheric contamination incident was an intentional human sacrifice by her family in order to create a necromancer powerful enough to save the Ninth House from economic and political failure: herself. But you know, whatever Harrow thinks of sex is really weird anyway. Something went wrong. And I definitely wanted to do the Harrow is a cavalier and Gideon is necromancer. Although I was really worried that nobody would be able to tell that Gideon was the necromancer there. Gideon and Harrow apologize for their treatment of each other. WebSPOILER Thoughts on NTN [Discussion] I just finished up Nona The Ninth and I greatly enjoyed it, despite some issues with pacing at the start I liked the characters they introduced, particularly Nona herself and the various supporting characters along with the depictions of the returning characters. I know youve talked elsewhere about the idea that Ianthe is your lady Draco in Leather Pants. They are the kind of books that hardly anyone seems to feel neutrally about: You either despise them or adore them passionately. Do you think Gideon is coming back in the end? And my problem is that Ive got a very Catholic taste.
